Jean-Louis SCHILTZ was admitted to the Luxembourg Bar in 1989.

From 2004 to 2009, he was a member of the Luxembourg Government as Minister for Defence, International Cooperation as well as Media and New Technologies.

He was a lecturer in civil and commercial law at the Universities of Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne) and Luxembourg. He is the author of a number of articles in the area of commercial and banking law.

Jean-Louis SCHILTZ holds a post-graduate degree in business law (diplôme d’études approfondies en droit des affaires) and a Master’s degree in business law (maîtrise en droit des affaires) from the University of Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne).
